Heart Open: a female-focused open mic night
A new evening of spoken word, music and visual arts aimed at celebrating some of our wonderful creative women of the Hunter. Featured artists this month include: Haley Papasavvas - visual artist, Eddy Tolhurst - musician, Janette Hoppe - poet, Elena Terol - comedian, and Hannah Indigo - dancer. These featured artist performances/readings will be interspersed with open-mic sessions, which are open to anyone wishing to perform. (Ladies encouraged, but all are welcome!). The Med Heads in conjunction with The Odditorium and Cool Try (Bro) presents "at the psychadelic GOO", a bi weekly psychedelic punk night spponsored by Cream on Hunter. Heaps of bands, super cheap tickets! More info on the event page.

Ride for Rain w/ Scumdrops + GOVV
Ride For Rain's record Life's A Beach was released August 24th so they're following it up with a tour. More info on the event page, check out their album while you're at it.

WAAX w/ Fritz + Voodoo Youth + Belle Badi
Presented by No-Fi Records, Brissy five-piece WAAX are returning to The Cambridge this weekend. I saw them supporting Kingswood earlier this year and was blown away by their set- they're awesome. More info on the event page.
