If you ever find yourself in the Kotara area and needing a caffeine hit or a little bite to eat, be sure to stop by ROULE. Owned by Dave and Mark, the pair started out with a small side project roasting coffee known as Maillot Jaune before fate and a vacant space saw them opening a small coffee shop next to Drift bike shop. After meeting and becoming friends over their love of cycling, the pair now supply their coffee throughout Northern NSW and Queensland. While the café obviously focuses first and foremost on producing top-notch cups of coffee, you can also grab yourself something to eat from their simple and fresh selection of ‘café eats’, including bagels, toasted sandwiches and smoothie bowls. For those who are fanatics about coffee and coffee machines in particular, ROULE also has a unique piece of machinery that helps them create some of the best coffee around. It’s called the Slayer, and it’s a US machine the first of it’s kind. This machine focuses on perfecting the flavour of milk, by using a vapor rather than steam to heat the milk, meaning it isn’t as watered down. So if you’re ready to give your taste buds a caffeine hit like they’ve never had before, be sure to pop into ROULE next time you’re around.
