Ever have one of those weeks where you feel like the world is against you?
This week has certainly felt like a rollercoaster to me, but I'm determined to not let it get the better of me.
One thing I have managed to extract from the week is this, when people offer "advice" or "guidance" it can often come across as patronising (I also own the fact I've been known to do this) but the people that manage to also offer assistance tend to get the message across.
There's a huge difference between something that resembles "you are doing it wrong" and something like "I think you might need a hand and I'd like to help by doing X, Y, Z".
I've also cop'd my fair share of public shaming this week, some of it called for and some of it not so much.
Another lesson I'm sure since I've certainly got a few of those marks in my biography.
It certainly gave me some perspective.
Hey! I'm not here to bitch and moan.
The Glass, after all, is half-full and I'm pretty proud to watch Darby Street Live take shape this week with a major media announcement from the Lord Mayor, major media all covered the story and seeing every business jump on board the project for Darby Street is a reminder of what I'm trying to achieve. Bringing Novocastrians together and working on creative projects that make a positive mark on the city.
Shoutout to all the incredible local artists that inspire me and Newy!
If you are working on the best version of you that is possible, that's enough.
We all fuck up from time to time, own it, learn from it, progress from it.
