We're spoilt for choice this week, with not only gigs, but creative events for the This Is Not Art Festival and music festivals like Sweaty Palms in Erina, or Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong where RAAVE TAPES will be shredding the stage on Sunday. I've somehow narrowed it down to five, but if you do a little bit of searching you'll be sure to find plenty more!

Heart Open: a female-focused open mic night
A new evening of spoken word, music and visual arts aimed at celebrating some of our wonderful creative women of the Hunter. Featured artists this month include: Haley Papasavvas - visual artist, Eddy Tolhurst - musician, Janette Hoppe - poet, Elena Terol - comedian, and Hannah Indigo - dancer. These featured artist performances/readings will be interspersed with open-mic sessions, which are open to anyone wishing to perform. (Ladies encouraged, but all are welcome!).
