I love cocktails. I don’t know about you all, but as I’m getting older, I’m finding more pleasure in a well-mixed drink than throwing back house wines. On the back of last month’s Negroni week, I’ve tried some lovely takes on the classic. The Negroni was first mixed in Italy in 1919. A man named Count Camillo Negroni had obviously had a week like mine, and so asked his bartender to give his Americano an extra kick. The soda was swapped out for gin, and the Negroni was born.
