Slow down and stay safe these holidays!

The Holiday Time: Slow Down, Kids Around campaign, which you've most likely seen posters for, promotes child road safety and reminds drivers to be alert to children playing on or near roads during the school holidays.

The campaign is the initiative of the Little Blue Dinosaur Foundation, established in memory of Tom McLaughlin, who died in 2014 at the age of four when he was hit by a car on a family holiday on the NSW Central Coast.

Double demerit period begins 22nd December 2017 and ends 1 January 2018, then returns from 25th to 28th January 2018.

The double demerit scheme applies to:

  • Speeding
  • Illegal use of mobile phones
  • Not wearing a seatbelt
  • Riding without a helmet

Please slow down and be alert for children playing near roads. Stay safe these holidays and enjoy the sunshine!
