SHORT STORY COLLECTION TOMCAT FEELINGS LAUNCH BY LOCAL AUTHOR NICK MILLIGAN / by Kian West

Nick Milligan wrote one of the best books I've ever read, Enormity is this sci-fi tale that is as much about music and what might be... it's incredible and I am constantly telling people to read it.
So when Nick reached out to tell us he had a new book coming, well, we needed more info!

Following the release of his acclaimed debut novel Enormity, author Nick Milligan has announced the launch of his first collection of short stories, Tomcat Feelings. A special event will take place at Abicus, Newcastle, on Friday, July 28, 2017, and will feature a live Q&A with the author. The book launch is free to the public and runs from 6pm to 8pm.

The 12 stories contained within Tomcat Feelings are an eclectic mix of theme and subject matter, spanning the genres of science fiction, horror, erotica and literature. Each story is told in Milligan’s unique style by an array of characters, woven with surrealism, humour and immersive prose.

The collection’s opening story, Megalodon, is a dark ocean tale set in his hometown of Newcastle and follows the disappearance of a young girl against the backdrop of a beach city that’s gone shark mad. Mesmeric Intersection is a disturbing but loving tribute to one of the Hunter’s most beloved watering holes, and Killing Floor Blues is an interstellar horror story that will appeal to those that embraced the epic mayhem of Milligan’s impressive debut novel.

Milligan has had a storied 15-year career as an entertainment journalist, having profiled some of the world’s biggest stars of music, film, comedy and literature. His articles have appeared in Rolling Stone, Frankie and YEN. He was also a Fairfax entertainment writer and sub-editor for over six years, before moving into events and music festival promotion.

Milligan’s books are available worldwide through Amazon and Abicus, Newcastle.
