Lake Mac Big Weekend is set to kick off this weekend, 13th-14th October. Thousands of spectators are expected to line the northern end of the lake for the event, with everything from superboats and jetski racing to markets, free water sports and a food and wine festival, there’s something for everyone.

2 days, 12 events, 1 big weekend!

The two-day event includes Round Two of the 2018 Offshore Superboat Championships.

Jet ski races – part of the Lake Mac PWC (Personal Water Craft) Race Series – will keep the adrenaline pumping afloat, while aerobatic displays across the weekend by Matt Hall Racing will turn the crowd’s attention skyward.

On shore, plenty of activities, attractions and entertainment will be offered, including markets, Lions Club displays and children’s amusement rides at Warners Bay and a pop-up bar, eateries and free water sports activities at Marmong Point.

“Past instalments have shown us this is one of the biggest, best and most exciting annual events in Lake Macquarie,” Mayor of Lake Macquarie, Cr Kay Fraser said.

“And the best thing is that all the waterborne action is free.”

Speers Point Park will host a show-and-shine car display for car enthusiasts on Saturday 13th October, with veteran, vintage, hot rods and classic vehicles on display, along with food stalls and music.

If you head along to Speers Point Park on Saturday you'll also have the chance to interact with local farmers at the famers markets, enjoying fresh produce, preserved foods and local art and craft.

The weekend will kick off with a free “Jet and Jive” concert at Warners Bay foreshore, held 6pm-9pm.

Warners Bay, Eleebana and Marmong Point, which will act as the staging and pits area for the Superboats, will be among the best vantage points for all the action.
