The Newcastle Writers Festival is happening 6th-8th April this year, and here's your chance to get involved! The perks of volunteering at the NWF is that you'll meet like-minded people, be able to attend free sessions, and get a free NWF t-shirt, all while giving your time to better the community of Newcastle.

Newcastle Writers Festival Director, Rosemarie Milsom, says she wants to "create an eclectic, welcoming festival that celebrates words and ideas, as well as the depth of local writing talent".

The main roles for volunteers are assisting as session ushers, information and help officers, organising signing tables and in our survey team. The roster is divided into two half-day shifts each day, and volunteers are entitled to free attendance at standard sessions before or after their shift.

Volunteer Training and City Hall Induction Sessions will be held in February/March. Attending a session is mandatory for all new volunteers and for those who haven’t volunteered in the previous three years. Some previous volunteers will need to attend an induction session for certain venues.

Registration to volunteer will close 12 March 2018, if all places have not been filled before.
