How would you describe the music that you make? A musical soup. A blend of my childhood influences such as Neil Young and Bob Dylan mixed with a love for folk and blues, I never had formal lessons so the end product is a style that I feel is my own. What are you working on at the moment? I’ve recently released by debut album If We Don’t Leave Now so I’m currently working on an album launch and potentially an east coast tour throughout May. Trying to keep myself inspired and motivated and not get too caught up in the business side of things. Where is your next event? The album launch is yet to be announced, however there’ll be free wine so tell your friends! When is the next release? The current album is still freshly released so I’ll be busy promoting that for a little while before I think of the next. It can be found at laughingoutlaw.com.au Who is your biggest influence/s? Hm, tricky question. Depends what mood I’m in! Most music I listen to is from my parent’s generation and decades earlier, but as for an influence I like to keep it fairly relevant to here and now. I think Laura Marling has been a big influence on me, she’s an incredible songwriter and a very captivating performer. If you could play anywhere where would it be? I’d be pretty stoked with anywhere at all really, traveling internationally to play music would blow my mind. No specific venues, I’ll take anywhere thanks!
