Tomorrow night, Burlesque Life Drawing is coming to The Edwards Bar.

The event is run by Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, who are here to change the perception of life drawing. Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School began in 2005 by artist Molly Crabapple, with a simple concept. Artist’s draw glamorous burlesque dancers, compete in contests, and win wacky prizes.

Beginning in New York, Dr. Sketchy’s now has over 100 branches around the globe, including Los Angeles, London, Rome, Tokyo, and Melbourne. Now, Ana Seethe is bringing Dr. Sketchy’s to The Edwards Bar, Newcastle.

The monthly sessions are known to feature burlesque babes, roller derby girls, drag queens and fetish models, along with contests, prizes and loads of alcohol.

The Newcastle event will be hosted by burlesque performer, and producer Ana Seethe. Ana  is the ‘Headmistress’ of the newly granted Newcastle Branch of Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School.

Dust off your old art class pencils, watercolours, paints, charcoal and easels for a fun, adults only Thursday night life drawing activity. Then be entertained with a burlesque performance at the end of the session. You don’t even need to be an artist or even participate in the drawing aspect. That’s the beauty of Anti-Art Classes!
