If you love plants, herbs and pretty pictures, than you’ll love the work of local artist Michelle Groth. Inspired by all things natural and organic, Michelle is a fine artist and illustrator who creates elegant, delicate and beautiful hand-drawn works of Mother Nature. Using watercolor paints and pigment pens, her fine art prints and greeting cards can often be found for sale at the local Olive Tree Markets. Michelle also does personal commissions, creating everything from wedding invitations to house portraits. Her eco-conscious work spans across paper and canvas, and has a soft style that brings with it a feeling of peace and gentleness. Ever since she was a child, Michelle has been using art as a way to express her thoughts and tell her stories, with her diaries and notebooks filled with colorful creations. After completing her Fine Art degree in 2010, Michelle has had her art exhibited in a number of exhibitions around Newcastle and has been awarded the People’s Choice award in an Emerging Artist Prize. As if her work wasn’t awesome enough, when she’s not creating stunning art, Michelle can be found teaching art classes at various aged care and disability care facilities as a form of therapy to the residences. Check out her beautiful work over on Instagram @michellegroth_art.
