A talented artist in the fields of drawing, painting and ceramics, Ellie Hannon has a truly unique and recognisable style that you’ve probably come across at the Olive Tree Markets. Having completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Newcastle University, Ellie has since worked with artists of all different cultures and practices, given her time to volunteer work and collaborated with various activist community groups, and it certainly shows in her art. Her carefree and airily personality shines through in all her pieces, as she explores her memories and experiences, and reflect on her values, beliefs and the environment around her. Having spent three years in South East Asia where she exhibited her work throughout Indonesia and Singapore, Ellie has been back on Australian soil since 2014 and has shown her work at the Corner Store Gallery in Orange, and had two sell-out exhibitions at the Newcastle Art Space and Foresight Gallery. Ellie has also been known to put on an amazing art class or two, teaching attendees how to create a variety of ceramic-based pieces, from wall hangings, to masks and jewellery.
