There is something great going on Thursday nights these days, you can head to a local venue and know that there is going to be some solid musical talent, relaxed vibes and that the night isn't going to be so late that you can't handle Friday, although I'd ask Ryan about that one for the last TNL.
It just so happens that Mirage and our mates Love & Rent collab to put together one of these each month with some hand selected local talent. This month we heard Water Bear were on tour from Melbourne so we added them into the mix with Oilbaron and Wavevom.

Oilbaron really set the bar high, the kind of alternative rock that makes me realise I don't really have enough words to describe that type of music. With a heavy crowd of relatives there to support, you knew they were fresh on the scene and no doubt everyone walked away very proud at how amaazing they sounded.

Water Bear could really be summed up by their final song, a cover of the A-Ha hit 'Take on me' in a surfy-alt-rock kinda way. They cut loose but maintained control on the stage. Clearly things are building for this act.

Headline act WAVEVOM shred like early Black Keys with all the power that comes from a duo with just guitar and drums. Good banter and laughs on stage, these guys are ready to party.

Support your scene. Head out and catch some local music, Thursday at the Cambridge is always solid. We are back February 9th and I'll give you a hint that GOVV will be playing.
