Long time fan of Spencer Scott, I am loving what this band is putting out! 'When you call' is the latest release from Paper Thin and it has the makings of a pop-punk-pub anthem!
It's hard to shut out references like 'The Smith Street Band' when you hear a song like this, they'd probably consider that a compliment, but personally I think Paper Thin do a better job.
Here's the stuff they want you to know: ‘When You Call’ Available Digitally Friday, August 4 ‘Living With. Being Without’ out Wednesday, September 13 Newcastle outfit Paper Thin has released a new single, available now on all digital platforms. ‘When You Call’ is the first track on their upcoming 2nd EP Living With. Being Without., which will be released through Sydney DIY Label Lost Boy Records on Wednesday, September 13th. ‘When You Call’ sees Paper Thin branch out of their wheelhouse; featuring a guest vocal from Newcastle singer/songwriter Grace Turner – the song sways and builds in equal measures, before exploding in a final refrain.
Living With. Being Without. was recorded in May in the township of Paterson. Cramped into a granny flat, the band recorded with Matt Taylor (Safe Hands/Delta Lions) to create something that represented the band’s growth since their debut EP. Lyrically, Paper Thin explore the nature of anxiety within intimacy through the songwriting perspectives of guitarist Aidan Roe and bassist Spencer Scott. Pre-orders for the EP are up now on the Lost Boy Records website and is the first vinyl release from Paper Thin.
If you are most likely to shop for music in the Punk/alternative/rock section and you love Aussie bands that sing with feeling then you are going to want to give Paper Thin some time.
