Top Five Places To Escape The Rainy Days / by Laura Kebby

I know that a lot of people get pretty down and out during the winter months. I know it's not winter yet but... the skies are looking pretty darn dreary out there, especially leading into the weekend. I might be a bit of a Wednesday Adams at heart but this kind of weather is really my absolute favourite, and here are five spots that I like to venture to, on days like this.

What better way to spend a rainy day then finding the perfect literary companion. It's a cozy maze of wonder and surprises and the service is always wonderful. The world moves a whole lot slower when it's raining, so why not take a breath, take some time, and fall in love with words again.

When was the last time you went to the museum? Yep... think back, it's been a while huh? Why not get stuck in and feast your eyes on something incredible. As well as the "Perseverance" exhibition showcasing Japanese Tattoo in the modern world, what really caught my eye is the "Ticket To Paradise" exhibit. Exploring and celebrating the archives of Australian immigrants post world war two. Real stories and heart wrenching adventures to shape your weekend.

My favourite movie theatre will always be Tower cinemas. There's something so iconic about the venue itself, I love the vibe and it always seems more then just a simple trip to the cinema. "Hidden Figures" would definitely be my top pick for weekend viewing!

A little bit out of my usual coffee route but I stumbled across this place when I was searching for a caffeine fix on my way to the day job one day. They make incredible coffee, the baristas are always friendly, and it's an excellent spot to watch the rainy world go by.

Everyone knows I love a beer, and is there a better way to spend a rainy day then tucked away in a corner of an awesome pub? Grab a couch, a burger and a beer and  why not pop on over to the Edwards Shop next door and grab yourself some tasty vinyl whilst you're at it!
