A FRESH FACE ON THE NEWCASTLE DANCE MUSIC SCENE, RUFEYO IS A PRODUCER BEFORE DJ, BANGING OUT SOME EPIC TUNES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. GREAT ENOUGH THAT HE HAS JUST RELEASED HIS FIRST EP ON PRESTON RECORDINGS. ONE OF THE KEY PLAYERS AT KING STREET HOTEL’S FRIDAY NIGHT “DANSE MACABRE” EVENTS AND ALSO AT ARGYLE HOUSE’S NEWEST MONTHLY NIGHT AT THE BRONX “MUTINY”. HE IS SET TO BE ON EVERYONE’S ACTS TO SEE IN 2014.

How would you describe the music that you make?

Electro House would be the genre. I always aim for specific things when writing music and mostly that is to create energy. I also like to put a lot of emotion into my melodies so my tracks stay fresh for longer. I like to think each track is different in its own way.

What are you working on at the moment?

I just finished up my first EP, NVRLND, which is out on Preston Recordings on the 23rd of August. I’m onto working on my next single which is shaping up to be a pretty big one. It’s a pretty huge thing for me seeing as though a year ago I wouldn’t have even thought of people liking my tracks let alone getting signed.

Where is your next event?

I’m playing at the next Danse Macabre at King Street Hotel and also a new Event at Argyle which will be pretty excellent! It’s called “Mutiny” and it’s a small collective of the young New- castle guys who are as much into this stuff as I am. Come down and fist pump with me.

When is the next release?

After the EP I still have a remix that I’ve done that will come out (other than my Animals remix for Preston) but I can’t say for sure when it will be released so you will have to sit tight.

Who is your biggest influence/s?

Hard one. I would have to say THE biggest would have to be Gregori Klosman from France. The dude is an absolute weapon. Also Tristan Garner, Sick Individuals & Showtek right now.

If you could play anywhere where would it be?

Hard one again, Internationally I would actually love to play LA or Vegas, it’s going wild over there right now. In Australia I would really like to play either HQ or Elsewhere, they both look like an insane party!
