Did you go to Grills N Spills? We did. / by Ryan Williams

I am currently soaking up one of the last bonsoy flat whites in Newcastle. I need it. I went to Grills and Spills at the Edwards last night. I am swilled out. It was like a theme park for beautiful people. I took a walk through the new bar in the back, through the motorcycle shop, through the coin-op laundry (Kian was in charge of the silent disco) and it was all unique. I’ve never felt so ugly.

I eventually made it out to the main event for me. The record store in-store music jamboree. I walk in to watch Spencer Scott, I see Dunny to my left, sitting on a well-cushioned chair. I should inform everyone at this point that last week finishing up our Mirage delivery for the month Dunny brought Kian and I up to speed on the status of a problem he’s been having. A problem with his…  body.

Google tells me some of the reasons Chris might be suffering. They could be to do with one (or more) of these: chronic diarrhoea, constipation and straining, weak pelvic floor tissues, heavy lifting or (probably) extended periods of sitting down.

I reach out to shake his hand. As I turn to pull away he turns his grip tighter, he pulls me down to his eye level.

“I’m feeling much better today.” He whispers, somewhat aggressively.

I nod. Thank you Chris.

Safe to say it I deserved a few drinks after that to remove my memories. Lachlan X Morris and Vacations definitely helped. It was a relieving night for all involved. The Edwards is a vibrant and beautiful place. Just don’t ask Dunny how he’s going.
