I FIRST CONTACTED KILL DIRTY YOUTH OVER INSTAGRAM WHEN I SAW A POST ABOUT THEIR NEW EP "WE ARE LIVING OFF DOG FOOD". I ASKED MYSELF, "COULD SOMEBODY ACTUALLY LIVE OFF DOG FOOD?" I HAD TO INTERVIEW KILL DIRTY YOUTH. AFTER WE DID THIS INTERVIEW THEY REALLY WANTED ME TO COME AND SEE THEM PLAY AT HOMBRE RECORDS BUT I HAD TO WORK.

In fifteen words or less, explain what Kill Dirty Youth are.

Tony: Alternative punk rockers

Ben: Kill dirty youth is an outlet mentally/physically for me

Tell me about "We're living off dog food"

Ben:We're living off dog food is a 4 track EP recorded early this year, really representing who we are as a band right now, raw and heavy with melody, being more a live band and thriving off live energy we were anxious to get into a proper studio and bang out 4 tracks!

Tony: it's an E.P. explaining exactly where we are & how we're living right now. Each song represents something that's happen or how we feel about shit.

Are you actually living off dog food?KDY-ALBUM

Tony: I can't even afford that! Joey: Every centerlink payment Louis: A dog food that consists of cigarettes, coffee, beer and service station food. Highly advise not to feed this to your dog.

Where did you record it?

Tony: We recored it at S&M productions. Matt & his team where more then we could of asked for! We recommend them to anyone interested in recording in newcastle.

Ben:S&M studios with producer Matt Mclaren , Newcastle. Had such a rad time! Made us feel at home and although being his first time recording our style of music he did such a great job and we would recommend S&M studios to any band/artist!

So.. I hear the band is moving to Melbourne in July. What's on down there?

Tony: There's just a whole lot more going on down there, a bigger & better scene, more opportunity! Our music is more appropriate & excepted better there as well.

Joey: it's fuckin rad, so much more stuff to skate and better venues to tear up.

Ben: Hell yeah!, Melbourne is just such a bigger, better more diverse place to be as a young inspired artist/band. All of us being 20 and 21 years of age are keen to make some noise in the city of Melbourne!

I also watched that skit you guys made, that shit was funny. Is there any more film stuff coming?

Ben: Hahaha! Just a bunch of idiots behind a camera lense.. Not much more to it really, except there will be more! Tony: Haha there's a whole lot more where that came from. I don't know, we might make a movie one day.

What's next for Kill Dirty Youth?

Tony: Head to Melbourne, make some fucking noise, hopefully get on an independent label & release another E.P. Or a cheeky L.P. At the end of the year! Maybe get laid as well haha.

Louis: shows and more shows.

Ben: Only time can tell us that! But what's on our cards is most definitely secure our spot on the Melbourne music scene, and more importantly become more professional as musicians and as a band!
